Guide To BMW Servicing In Warrington

Still new to BMW vehicle servicing? Learn more about the process in this article.

As with any vehicle, your BMW needs consistent TLC to ensure it performs to the best of its ability.

This includes regular servicing and maintenance – as well as repairs if they’re necessary.

Whether you’re a new BMW owner or you’ve had your car for a while, doing everything you can to protect your investment is a smart move.

In this post, our BMW specialists here at CJ Auto in Warrington have compiled some of the most common (but most important) service tasks to keep in mind for your precious BMW.

What does a BMW service entail?

The most important BMW service tasks include:

·         Oil changes

Oil plays a vital role in your BMW’s health and performance, like any other car.

Without clean oil, your car won’t run very well – and if you exceed your oil expiration date, you run the risk of damaging internal car parts – increasing the chance of your vehicle breaking down while you’re out on the roads.

·         Tire rotations

Your tyres don’t wear down in the same way or at the same time, so they must be rotated on a regular basis. Every 3,000 – 5,000 miles or so.

As well as providing optimal traction, regular rotations will also make your tyres last a lot longer.

·         Brake inspections

Obviously the more you drive, the more you use your brakes – meaning your brake pads will wear down gradually.

By having your brakes checked regularly, you’ll be able to catch any potential problems before they become a more serious issue.

These maintenance tasks need to be completed regularly, to keep your BMW in the best possible condition for the duration of its life.

How often should my BMW be serviced?

Not every BMW needs to be serviced at the same mileage point.

However, we recommend taking your vehicle for an interim service every 12 months or 12,500 miles – whichever comes first.

Interim services help keep your vehicle safe and roadworthy in-between full services, which should be carried out every 36 months or 37,500 miles.

Can I service my BMW at any garage?

Absolutely!

Your BMW doesn’t necessarily need to go to the dealer for a service, and you can take your vehicle to any mechanic you want for any services and repairs.

Take CJ Auto for example.
