• Gearbox problems 

Jerky or delayed gear changes, slipping, whining noises or a gearbox warning light can all point to a fault. We diagnose manual and automatic gearbox problems, including DSG units. 

• Car warning lights 

Engine management, ABS, oil pressure or airbag light on? We read the fault codes with dealer-level equipment and tell you how urgent the problem is. 

• Air conditioning

If your air con is blowing warm, smells musty or isn’t clearing the windscreen, it may need a re-gas or leak. We’ll find the cause and get it cooling again. 

• Brakes 

Squealing, grinding, a spongy pedal or the car pulling to one side when you brake are all signs your brakes need checking. These are never worth putting off. 

• Engines 

Loss of power, misfires, rough idling, knocking or smoke from the exhaust usually mean something isn’t right. We trace engine faults back to the source.

• Clutches 

A slipping clutch, a high biting point, juddering when pulling away or difficulty getting into gear often means the clutch is wearing out. We’ll confirm the cause before recommending a replacement. 

• Wet belts 

Some modern petrol engines, including certain Ford EcoBoost models, use a timing belt that runs in oil. As it degrades, debris can block the oil supply. If an oil pressure warning comes on, stop and get it checked. 

• Steering and suspension 

Knocking over bumps, a vibrating steering wheel, the car pulling to one side or uneven tyre wear can point to worn suspension parts or alignment issues. 

• Exhaust and DPF

A DPF warning light, limp mode, loss of power or a louder-than-usual exhaust are common signs of a blocked filter or exhaust fault. We clean and repair DPFs and fix exhaust problems. 

• EV and hybrid batteries

Reduced range, slower charging or a hybrid system warning can mean your battery needs attention. Our technicians carry out EV and hybrid diagnostics and repairs.
